Wow, that looks like a lot of metal in there.

Yep, he still doesn't feel a thing 8 hours later. It'll come when the pain block wears off.

Poor, Ricky. It's been almost four days since his ORIF clavicle surgery and he's still in a lot of pain if he doesn't keep up on the oxycontin. Tomorrow morning is his first recheck appointment with the surgeon. I keep hoping he'll stretch the time between doses but he only does if he sleeps through one.

The only severe pain I've had that kept me on the minimum time frame of painkillers was a ruptured disc.

Patty - how is Ricky doing?

Here is an application for employment I saw - not sure if it is real, but the article says it is.
"I refer to the recent death of the Technical Manager at your company and hereby apply for the replacement of the deceased Manager. Each time I apply for a job, I get a reply that there is no vacancy, but in this case I have caught you red-handed and you have no excuse because I even attended the funeral to be sure he was truly dead and buried before applying. Attached to my letter is a copy of my CV and his death certificate."

Ricky is doing very well, now. He's been taking ibuprofen during the day and going to the gym to sit on the bike. He ices the surgery shoulder as needed. He says it's better day by day. If he inverts himself by bending over it takes away all the pain in the shoulder. Gravity pulling down is why it hurts when he's standing up.

I'm glad Ricky is on the mend.

Has anyone else had this problem? When I am in the dentist's chair and leaning way back so that my arms are pushed up into my shoulders,it makes pains in my arms. My dental hygienist says she has never had anyone else in that situation.

I had to go to the dentist last year when my shoulder was bad.
It was a very, very, long half hour for cleaning.

I always ask the dentist peeps not to recline the chair all the way back. I do not like to lie flat. And, speaking of the dentist, I went today because I was having some pain in the gum around the back upper right molar. Also some tenderness under the jaw on that side. Teeth felt fine. I made the mistake of saying to the assistant that the last time my jaw hurt like that I needed a root canal. Well....guess what??!! I have an infection in the gum, so that back molar needs the root canal to be redone, years after the first one. What a drag. Dentist said that happens sometimes. Just bad luck. So Thurs it's back to have that done. Probably needs a new crown, also. I get to give myself an early Christmas present, to the tune of about $3300. The antibiotics I got (3 pills a day for 7 days) cost me 33 cents! I like that a lot better.
