Cholesterol can be a giant PIA. Rick's had issues for years. One time after his lab work we made a REAL effort with food choices. His cholesterol went down, but the good went down too. Too low, so that technically he was still at risk. He tried three medications which all had issues, Down the line, genetic Zocor has kept in in check. It was a little elevated last time, but not enough that he'd agree to adjust the dose. He's watching food intake and doing well.
My mother was the chicken, fish, salad lady and had cholesterol pushing 300! My dad, meat, potatoes, gravy, bread, butter had cholesterol of 160! It really can just be genetic. Mine stayed around 160-170 for a long time. As I aged, it started to creep up. I lost weight and exercised more after retirement and my cholesterol was above 200 for the first time ever that year. What the heck? I added a fish oil capsule daily and last lab work had be back below 200. Makes no sense as due to the pandemic I had found a few pounds and exercised less. It's a roll of the dice to be sure!

My late father-in-law's level ran 600 to 700 no matter what he ate. He had heart troubles but died from cancer!

I was leafing through Hemmings the other night and came across an ad for a 79 Trans Am with something like 101 original miles on it. Asking price 199,999.00

Hmm what to do today. Got my tail kicked at the YMCA. I'm all showered up and smelling pretty now, but I don't see an outing this afternoon. It's lousy weather today and tomorrow. Rick's Honda is getting some routine maintenance so we will head out later to pick it up. I guess I could look further into planning a trip to NC.........

I'm kind of amazed at what I have accomplished in the last 14 hours if I don't say so myself. I got home from work at 12:30 this morning, went to bed a little after 1 got up at 7 drove to my bosses a half hour away then we drove to a job in rutland which was another 40 minutes. We refinished a kitchen and bathroom floor then drove back to his house and on my way home I went to the grocery store and was home by a little after 2.

Yes, Robb, Rick's Honda is the S2000 though my name is first on the paperwork.
After reserving a place in NC in September, I decided we might just go to SC in October. My local sister will be there, and my other two sisters live there. It will be the first time we can all be together since we lost my other sister. We could stay with my sister and brother in law, or my other brother in law, but we prefer a hotel. In the past, we stayed in a VRBO rental in North Myrtle beach. It's lovely but about 1/2 hour from where my sisters live. I looked at both VRBO and airbnb, closer to where my sisters live. Of the properties I viewed, airbnb has a better cancellation policy. Mid October isn't a busy time there so the rates aren't bad at all. I'm not expecting beach weather, but with a condo on the beach we might have good enough weather for a walk on the beach.
