I don’t know anything about the technology of it but I do know it happens to us, too.

Had my first real parent-teenager "robust discussion" this morning. Hopefully the lessons imparted stick this time. He's a fantastic kid overall but can struggle with interpersonal relationships (high IQ, middling EQ). Still waiting for my blood pressure to return to normal and reflecting on what I could have said and done better. Ended with hugs all round but this is the part of parenting that I hate the most.
Sorry, just had to get it out.

Hi is a lot tougher to learn those skills. too many variables to discern and you throw in puberty and all hell breaks loose.

IQ vs EQ. Highly intelligent and able to pick up concepts very quickly but not so good on things like reading emotions and conversational queues, and also prone to say what's on his mind rather than filter it first. Basically he's Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory.

Nonpolitical. Neither side could celebrate a win today, but Y ladies celebrated anyway. We celebrated democracy and indulged in mimosas at 10:00 AM! Day drinking, celebrating our right to vote! That's how we roll.
