I've checked email on vacation and remember being sorry I had. I've called home while on vacation and again, wished I hadn't. When I heard my grandson had broken his wrist when we were at a Vintage meet, I knew there was nothing I could do, but if asked, I would have turned around and gone home. Maybe it's a Mom/grandmom thing for me. I do look at news while on vacation, but I'd rather select what to read on the laptop, than seeing clips of news that I know will annoy me. When on vacation, we generally go to dinner and call it a night. Just like home, Rick will watch TV and I'll goof off with pictures or on line.

Yep, don't think I want to totally disconnect.
Since I have a landline up there I know I can get a phone call if there's anything I need to know. I was looking forward to going there next week but the fires are horrible still and Kennedy Meadows is totally smoked out so I guess I have to stay at my house the whole time. It's hot there. It just finally cooled off here in Loveland and I'm on a 32 mile ElliptiGO ride and got rained on. That wasn't in the forecast. At least it didn't last long.

I have a brutal case of jealousy for iron man aka Tony Stark aka RObert Downey jr.

https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/r...tomod-2947793/
easily scores 5 drools.

Meanwhile on BAT
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-bmw-3-0csl-3/ currently sitting at Current Bid: $180,000 Ends In: 2 days

and I'd take Downey's car over that one in a heartbeat.

Yes, I'm still going to California. The major reason is because of an NSX drive on Sunday, September 13th. I have an annual MRI scheduled to check on some aneurysms I have in my belly.

One book to read and one to color. I love coloring mandalas with fine quality markers.

I had a couple of visitors today. This morning as I was getting ready for work I happened to look out my bedroom window and saw a big bear on our front lawn heading towards the street. When I came home from work this afternoon there were 3 cubs lying under one of our trees on the front lawn. I hit my horn a couple of times to get them to scatter but they shimmied up the tree. I pulled in my driveway and to my left in our field there was Mama watching and she was big, I didn't get any pics. I had noticed a couple of guys mowing a lawn a few houses down from me so I figured I would go warn them. As I was talking to them we could see the 4 bears getting together in the street in front of my house and then run in to the woods. Today is the first day of black bear season in vermont so I think more bears are getting flushed out by hunters. The last time I saw a bear hanging out on our property was Labor day weekend a few years ago.

Did you seethe video on the news of the bears walking into stores at Lake Tahoe? One was feasting on candy. Another went for fruit. They are going to have to disable those automatic doors in stores.

Bears in the front yard and you don't live in Chicago! Yikes. I have never seen one in the wild and hope to continue that record.
