My children love that show, it's very much the sort of thing we're into.
Currently shopping for RWD manual vehicles for my son to learn to drive in at the local car club. Where does the time go? Pretty sure he couldn't walk or talk just a moment ago, and suddenly he's 13 years old and nearly 6ft tall. Leaning towards a Miata, he's not learning in the S2000!

Latest project is trying to find or make some parts for a Sears walking sprinkler that I have had for maybe 40 years. Still works but leaks really badly internally. It seems I am a couple years late since there was a company that just closed their doors that made parts for these long gone built like a tank sprinklers. I need an impeller shaft and top & bottom bushings but I think I am $hit out luck finding them. Nothing on e-bay and nothing at a couple links that claim to have some parts.

Emil, that company has changed hands and is now closed, with all the parts I need listed as Out of Stock. You know the story buy a company that's been in business since 1937 just for its name and then sell off the inventory and close it.

Dave, what is the model # and what parts are you looking for?

Dave, if you had a 3D metal printer, you could--dare I say it?--rule the world!

If the sprinkler had a model # my best guess is A5 (?).
These were the replacement part # on the NE website - all out of stock
S1150 top impeller shaft bushing bronze $9.23
S1100 impeller shaft *
S1160 bottom impeller shaft bushing bronze $10.76
S1130 thrust gasket, cork $1.00
S1140 graphitar detrin thrust bearing $6.15
S1180 A5 cork plate gasket $3.08
S1101 * impeller shaft assembly kit $29.00
I messed around making washers out of both cork and nylon that might resemble what was under the lower bushing. Tested them tonight and it cut the leak flow rate by about 50%. Probably the only solution is to find a local small job shop and have a new slightly larger shaft made and then try reusing the old bushings.
