Good luck, Patricia. We had some family time this weekend. The granddaughter (who now has pink hair ) and her boyfriend came to lunch yesterday. Grilled cheese on white bread was the request, along with tomato soup. Boyfriend is a picky eater. It was good to spend time with them. They both are on winter break from school, and both did well in the first semester.

We had a hotel style turkey in the freezer, no legs/wings, and Rick cooked that for dinner. Our son, daughter in law and grandson came over. Nice to spend time with them too. My son's work scheduled has changed to a more "normal" schedule, so they now can have dinner together more often so we decided to have them over. Free food is rarely refused and we sent them home with left overs. It was delicious.

I've never quite understood the whole "markup" culture. hair, tattoos, piercing... but then again I started with perfect so it was hard to improve.
Although as a young kid I had a Mohawk.

The colored hair can be done well but often times it just looks like colored fuzz. I love what my daughter has done but she pays a professional.

I can take tattoos but not metal in faces. I usually look away.

Patty, I've seen your daughter's hair and I think it looks great. My granddaughter's looks not so great. It's a phase and will have to be curtailed quickly due to requirements with her classes in the nursing program. She also had a little stud piercing in her nose a while back. I thought I'd hate it, but it doesn't bother me. If this is the worse she does to express herself at 18, her parents and grandparents will be OK with the fuzzy hair. I'm not a fan of tattoos.....

I bought these slippers and they are really comfortable!! If you are in the market, give them a try. Or another style. I got them on Amazon - $25.99.

RockDove Nordic Slipper with Memory Foam.

Our friend's mom passed away today in her late 80's. She was a classy lady and so much fun to be with. Her health has been declining for some time. With the exception of one aunt by marriage and one other friend's mom, all of of our generation are now without parents. It's a weird realization. Rick and I were headed out for lunch when we heard of her passing. I had a drink in her honor and we raised a glass to her. She loved a Southern Comfort Manhattan. That drink is out of my league. I'm still feeling the effects of some sangria that had vodka in it. I do not enjoy the buzz.

Yep Lainey that mantle lies heavily on the shoulders.
I still have my mom and a few uncles and aunts but several are cognitively sipping badly.
I suspect I have 4 maybe 5 years left and they will all be gone.

"Southern Comfort Manhattan"; oh my goodness that would be like drinking candy. No wonder she liked it.
