Default SCCA Track Night in America

So if you were thinking of trying some track days, this looks like a great, inexpensive way to get started:

I'm hoping to get a group in New England to go to the Palmer track on June 23.

I figured the program might be of interest to some folks here as they have events all over the country.

I didn't read the material but at our tracks you need a roll bar unless you have a hard top. Plus you have to have a helmet that meets current standards, i.e., can't be over 5 years old as I recall.

SCCA accepts our cars' factory roll hoops and other reinforcements. It is then up to the track to decide. I'm waiting to hear back now. Also, the TDIA program has new helmets, offered at a discounted price, and you can just add it into your order for the rack day, which is pretty nice.

Too bad that the 23rd is a Thursday night.
Golf league has clear precedence.

Bill, there are threads about SCCA TNiA in both NY Metro and in Racing and Competition.

I'll provide you links.

I went 2 weeks ago to the Pocono event. I left home at 2:30, got 60 minutes of track time for $125 and was home by 8PM.

...and now there is a thread in Del-Val too:

Hmmm...May 24 at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans. Unfortunately I could never get a roll bar shipped and installed in time and I will be in Tennessee all week anyway. Maybe next year. Would LOVE to get the Miata on a road course, even as low-powered as it is I'm thinking it would be a hoot on a tight track like NOLA.
