I'm on Facebook and proud of it. Even have the app on my iPhone. I keep my "friends" list pretty small but I have had the pleasure of connecting with some old friends I had lost touch with. It's a great site for that. Plus I can see what my kids are up to. I will ocassionally wax philosophical as I used to do here back in the day. Might post an occasional musical lyric or two that speaks to my mood for the day. I don't understand why people here are so opposed to it. I use it similarly to the way you all use s2ki. What's the difference? You're communicating with friends right? Same there.

^^^I'm with you, Carmen. There is absolutely no privacy here, but at least on Facebook, you can set your privacy settings so that only those who you choose can see your postings.
Want to try something scary... go to whitepages.com and type in your name and city. Now, how did they know all that about you?

I do keep in touch with some family members via Facebook, but I don't feel the the way I would with email or phone calls.

Lainey, I agree with you. Most of the postings I see from my "friends" are 90% drivel, and I don't bother to post my drivel! However, I am a fan of several organizations/groups that make very thoughtful postings that I enjoy reading. Occasionally, I posted a reference to a news item or something that I think will be interesting, but I get no responses to them, so I gave up.

Although there are some in Upstate that think it is critical we advertise our existence on Facebook
I just think nothing good will come of it, and in fact worry that in the end our s2ki community is going to become diluted with non S owners who expect to participate in our activities

On S2ki I am Legal Bill. That is pretty good privacy. Sure, some people here know my real name, but the world can't find me. If you are going on facebook, I think it only makes sense to create an account under your actual name. That is much easier to find and identify with me.

In DOD-land we are specifically advised with regards to participation in social networking.
It is necessary to pay close atten6tion to what you put out there for the world to see.

I'd be surprised if that happened. It's not like the S2000 is a just released vehicle...
Yes, clearly, the S2000 is not a just released vehicle, and the popularity of it continues to drop. However, there are lots and lots of people out there shopping for used S2000's so google searches for S2000 are not as uncommon as you might think.
My concern is non-S2000 owners get attracted to the Facebook account where S2000 activities are advertised. I'm well aware there are securities and verifications that can be put in place to try and attempt to verify S2000 ownership, but seriously, it is not hard to lie when the person doing so does not care about the truth.
So Lainey, how would you like your S2000 gatherings to start having cars like this in it?
