I do have Skype, which is great for keeping in touch with family/friends. I highly recommend it. Easy to install and it's free, at least so far! Just need a little webcam to attach to your computer.

If I didn't like those people when I was in fifth grade, what makes them think I want to talk to them now on Facebook?

It's interesting how we seemed more "connected" with friends and family before all the electronic social networking took over.
^My new facebook friend. Another one finds himself/herself in there and getting deeper with added friends each day. My daughter even asked to be his friend.

for Facebook.

I think a few of you folks are now on there?

I use it a little more than I did when I started this thread, but still don't use applications or play any games.

What about you all?

BTW, the founder of Facebook has been named "Person of the Year" by Time

The young man certainly has created a whole new way for people to connect/stay in touch with family/friends.

Thanks for bumping this. Reading through this thread from the very beginning was a lot of fun. We've (that is if I can be considered a participant here) all shared some very interesting views and people's opinions have come a long way since.

I am on it but don't find it very interesting. I can go a few days without visiting, very unlike my addiction to Vintage. I really only got on facebook to see what my kids post up and they don't post very often. No apps for me, either.

BTW, Barbara Walters's special on the 10 most interesting people also had the founder as Number 1. I watched my DVRed show last night. She didn't actually talk to him but she had clips of him.
