Glad to give you such a chuckle grandson. What? The part you get to see is the overcompensation end of things but really, deep down, I'm not only shy but very timid too. Seriously.

I found S2ki when i did a search on Google, about a month after I got the car. I knew there had to be some kind of message board for such a great car. I don't get to spend as much time here as I would like. Being an over the road truck driver I am not home alot, but I do look for S2000s when I am driving, and making deliveries in the DC Baltimore area.
I found out what Vintage was about, just before I went to Fall Colors 04,and joined.I didn't want to admit to myself that I was old Then last week I got a letter from AARP so I guess it must be true.

Way back in late Winter 03 when I was researching what car to buy, I came across S2Ki. I browsed around, asked some questions and eventually wound up buying my car from a dealer I found through this website.

Being a weather geek I started posting in Rob's Rain, again, again thread, which was one of the precursors to Vintage.

I've been hooked ever since.

Kinda hard to remember all the details (that's why I'm in Vintage) but shortly after acquiring our S2000 in Sept. 1999, I was searching the net for info and came across Shelly's website S2000FANS. It didn't have any members, but what the heck, I signed up. (see below) Have been following the transitions ever since, although there was a delay when it became S2KI, must have been on vacation. Vintage had been around quite a while before I ventured over. I thought it was for people with other "vintage" cars that wanted to talk about them.

Not entirely incorrect, Morris! Happy new year!

Laster and Seniorita approached us at the local Barnes & Noble last August and told us about the site. I haven't seen any postings from them in ages, however.

Get 'em back, AJ! You can't let Steve, Bill, Lainey, and me be the only Vintage voices from MA!

Happy holidays!

I found the forum when I started looking at S2000s instead of Miatas. I almost bought a Shinsen edition Miata last year, and also looked at 10AEs, but then the Mazdaspeed Miata came out.

I figured if I was going to buy a new car, I'd prefer to just get an S2000, so of course I googled it, and found the s2k site right away.
I didn't look at the vintage forum for a long time, thinking it was about vintage cars, and then I figured I didn't qualify yet, as I turn 40 in Oct '05.

But I enjoy reading posts that aren't all written in various forms of cyberscript, and are entertaining.

I'll have to get to one of the get-togethers soon, as I don't actually know any S2000 owners yet. I've driven an '01 model, briefly and at low speed, so at this rate, I may buy the car without ever getting a 'real' test drive. But that's ok, I bought my '94 T-Bird SC without ever having seen one

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome

The 15th sounds good, except that it's my wife's due date, so I have a feeling I'll be otherwise occupied . She's hoping the baby will arrive early, and I suppose it could happen any day now, so we'll see. At this stage, she's had enough of being pregnant.
