Wink S2000 Connections....

I've been around this site for a long time....almost since the beginning of s2ki.com (check out my looooooooow user # ). I came over here at the time of the demise of www.S2000.on-line....or whatever it was called.

But we have many newer members......how did you find out about this great website? Did you discover the Vintage S2000 forum right away?

Search engine?

Referral from another owner?

Info from your Honda dealer

When I joined, 2 1/2 years ago, I was directed here by a seach for S2000. By chance it brought up this site and S2KCA.

Today if you go to the official Honda website(www.honda.com), and bring up the S2000 there is a link to the "Enthusiast Clubs".

I was referred by another owner (jpgraves) before I'd even bought my car. I was well-prepared to take delivery, thanks to s2ki.com.

I had my 2001 Silverstone S2000 two years before I accidently discovered this site by doing a search on S2000. I think I was having some problem so I was looking for info. Been hooked ever since. I saw Vintage early on and joined in.

I was turned on to this S2Ki by our "real world" friend that is the Community Organizer in Hawaii, Colin. He and his lovely wife Franceen have his and her S2000's and on one of our trips to Hawaii Colin took us for a ride and then let me drive his S. I had been drooling over one since they were first announced.

I joined on the day that we bought our S.

I have to say, that being here has greatly enhanced our ownership experience. I have never had a license plate frame on my car before my S2Ki frame. And I am always place S2Ki calling cars on S's that I see parked where ever I go.

Aside from all of the wonderful people that we have met in person since joining, I have to say that two of the other experiences have been special.

1. Colin and Franceen arranged a dinner with other members of the Hawaii Chapter in March of 2004 when I was in Honolulu on a business trip. Making me feel welcome wherever I go.

2. This past summer (2004) while visiting my mother on eastern Long Island we were out running some errands to the south shore. While heading south on RT 24 from Riverhead to the Hamptons there were several S's heading north. We flashed our lights and waved. That night, I hopped on my notebook and posted a sighting in the NY Metro forum. Sure enough, someone acknowledged that it was them (I forget now). Then. while standing on line for the bar at this years FCT04 one of the people from NY Metro looked up and saw my name tag. And said: Hi, I was one of the people that you passed on RT 24 in NY back in August.

Like one big happy family.

That's exactly how I found it...a year and a half after I bought the car.
