Rick quoted this this morning.

If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'

Isn't Belichick a NASCAR fan?

Hoping they weren't looking for this advantage. I don't think it made a difference though............

Not quite that bad, Levi, but in either case, it doesn't change who wins the game.

In fact, the underinflated balls may have hurt them!!! This is from the WEEI website. BREAKING NEWS:

By Jerry Spar

According to a report from Pro Football Talk, the NFL reviewed its game officials’ actions Sunday and determined that they properly checked the footballs before the AFC championship game.

It was later determined that 11 of the 12 footballs the Patriots were using on offense were substantially deflated from the minimum accepted pressure of 12.5 pounds per square inch (PSI).

The Pro Football Talk report, which credits a league source, also indicated that the two-pound difference in PSI would not be obvious to an official handling the ball unless specifically looking for it.

The Colts reportedly alerted the officials to the issue during the first half, and the balls were tested at halftime and reinflated to the proper amount. It did not have a detrimental affect on Tom Brady and Co., as the Patriots outscored Indianapolis 28-0 in the second half en route to a 45-7 victory.

I'm changing the story line.

TO GIVE COLTS A CHANCE, PATRIOTS USE UNDERINFLATED BALLS.

The New England Patriots, in an effort to make the AFC playoff game look closer than it really was, attempted to use poorly inflated footballs to hamper their own performance during the game. These underinflated balls do not travel as far and were much easier for the Colts to intercept. The ploy worked well with the half-time score a reasonably close 17-7. In an ironic twist, after intercepting Brady during the first half, a Colts linebacker reported the underinflated balls to his team and in turn, the NFL officials. The refs removed the underinflated balls and returned properly inflated balls to the Patriots for the second half. With proper equipment, the Patriots went on to demolish the Colts 42 to 7.

An under inflated ball would significantly reduce field goal kicking distance. If the Colts had left some field goals short they'd have a case.

But as wet as it was, I wouldn't expect under inflated balls to give an advantage to one team's passing or running game over another.

What say you, LB??? Looks like trouble for NE.

Think I'll wait for the NFL's official ruling before passing judgement. ESPN's been wrong before.

And C'mon ...this from the NEW YORK POST.....I'd expect then to be bashing the PATS every chance they got.
How about ESPN Boston?

ESPN Boston, ESPN Abu Dhabi, ESPN Wherever ..... They got the feed from the same "Unnamed Sources" [how convenient] source.

I'll still wait for a ruling by the NFL before I make a decision whether or not to throw the PATS under a bus. like some.

Here is an article from a non-ESPN source Belichik. It was noticed by the Colts defender who intercepted the "cheating, lowlife, philandering" Brady's pass. The article went on to say that it went all the way up to the Pres. of the Colts, and then to the NFL VP of operations, and relayed to the refs during halftime, at which time they went to the "lying, cheating, sleazeball" Belichik who seems to have a past record of cheating, lying and being an all-around schmuck.
I hope you all know that this was all in fun, yeah sure. That said, I really do have an issue with cheaters, and it does seem that Mr. Belichik has a real penchant for playing the odds of getting caught.
