Robin Invasion
#5
I saw some when I was down in Melbourne last weekend. Was thinking that I hadn't seen any up here yet. But last year there was an invasion - about 80 of them sitting on the building across from mine in downtown DC. I had never seen anything like that.

I've seen quite a few around here, too...though we have quite a few large groups of birds all the time.....we actually have flocks of white pelicans on the lake nearby...we don't usually get pelicans.

We get huge flocks of robins frequently. They seem to have a particular affinity for the cedar berries on our big cedars. Of course, I love the robins because they are my organic form of pest control. They love insects, worms, and pesky critters that eat our plants. Since I despise using any kind of pesticides, I welcome the robins (as long as my car's in the garage, of course)

No Robins here. I have seen Roadrunners now and then, lately though. How about a close-up picture of a Robin, for the west coast?

Robins are supposed to be a sign of spring in our area.
