Default Road Rage at it's finest

Last Saturday Beth and I decided to drive up to Erie, Pa to visit my son. It was a beautiful day and we were cruising the back roads of Route 19 top down enjoying the day. A pickup truck was in front of us loaded with firewood. He was driving about thirty miles an hour in a fifty mile an hour zone. We got to a long uphill stretch and I decided to pass him. Well I guess he didn

Thanks for sharing this story, Maury. And it's lucky that you guys escaped without injuries. I don't understand road rage. In Texas, where people sometimes carry weapons, it's bullets instead of bottles -- often with deadly consequences.

WOW Maury - it is unbelievable how something so small can trigger someone off.

Thankfully you and Beth are unhurt.

GO STEELERS!

Maury welcome to the world of benz ownership.
it isn't all that frequent but you will encounter it.

First I'm glad that your all OK.
There are people out there who are angry that they have not achieved success or are struggling and they are resentful.
They are resentful of those that have done well and to them the tristar represents idle wealth as if somehow one day we just tripped over a bag of money.
Their life would somehow be better if those damn rich bastards weren't screwing them every day and suddenly one them shows up.

Throw in some alcohol and poof. In this case your "act of aggression" was passing him, putting him down yet again.
You wouldn't think a sport utility truck would set it off but I've had it happen in my ML320.

The good news is it doesn't happen often but the bad news is it does happen.

That's a VERY frightening story. Damn PeeAye redneck. Ops, I was born and raised not far from Rt 19.

Sounds like a drunk but who knows.

Years ago when all the autoworkers in MI hated Foreign car people like me I had car pull up beside me not far from one of the Ford plants. The car started driving very irratic around me. Then the driver, steering with his right hand and waving a bottle in the left was getting ready to throw it at the passengers side where a friend from work was sitting (we'd been to a business meeting). My friend screamed at him, Hey A-hole we have your plate number! We didn't. But he got this Oh Shit look and took the next exit.

Wow, I am glad no one got hurt. You did the right thing in allowing the law to take over. I hope he is prosecuted for this totally uncalled for aggression. I wonder if he was an older guy or a younger guy, not that it makes any difference but if he were an older person, he should know better than to pull something like that. Obviously, there is no excuse no matter what. Let the law deal with him commensurate with his action.
