I liked him but when I worked staying up that late was not an option. His story is a sad one. He amassed over 200 million dollars and blew all of it thanks to 3 x wives that I'm sure in typical Hollywood fashion took their share. He had a terrible accident and then the cancer. RIP Ed and say hello Johnny.

Well i guess no one liked Ed McMahon,
It's not like when my brother or Dad passed.
It barely affects me...if at all.
I didn't know him well enough to like him...or not like him.
From the persona he put out on television, it seemed he was a likeable fellow.
Just because other people don't comment on a thread, doesn't mean they don't like the subject and/or person(s).

I cannot remember a RIP tread in vintage where there were no comments after 12 hours that is all, NBD
I liked Ed McMahon he added spice to a show i grew up with for many years. I still picture him doing his thing with Johnny late nights he had quite the infectiuous laugh.

As an avid Tonight Show watcher all through the Carson years. He helped make the show what it was (TERRIFIC). I have many memories of his contributions, not limited to:
"How hot was it"?
...... and then there was the night when he was "toasted"

with Matt's comments. I loved that show, and Ed, playing the straight man, made it special.
Thanks for posting the YouTube link, Matt. There were several other clips there that I'll come back and play.
(Looks like there are at least 4 of us who'll miss him!)
