One other thing or actually two about the S is the first being I gave mine a solid Vtec pull today and I haven’t done that in awhile and it really builds up the speed I forgot how good it was it’s been awhile The second thing is I still can’t get over how cold the a/c is even after 21 years I could hang meat in the car with the a/c on when it is triple digits outside!

Andy. Our divorce was final in July 2007. Can you believe he lives within 4 miles of me in Loveland, now? I see him at family functions since our daughter and son also live in Colorado.

I drove about 3 different ones before I bought mine. The Honda dealers I tried to deal with were one worse than the other. I spent well over a year looking and had given up and was close to buying a used 911 instead when fate intervened. A tree branch fell on my Toyota and did some damage so I went to my Toyota dealer, who also sells Honda’s, to get parts for my truck and while I was there I figured I would take one more shot. I walked over to the Honda side spoke with a saleswoman they had a new silver S in the showroom she asked me if I wanted to go for a test drive I told her it wasn’t needed I knew I wanted one told her my stipulations and after a bit of back and forth we made a deal. Turns out she was doing her last two weeks there she had given her notice and the sales manager was out for the week, when I picked up the car 2 months later the sales manager told me he never would of o.k’d the deal if he was there. Another weird cool thing was the saleswoman had a day calendar on her desk and on that day I was there it mentioned something about whom a member here named Chazmo had named his S after he called it Neb for short it was so long ago I can’t remember the full name but that was pretty cool.
Charlie would almost always drive his car with the top down, even in the dead of winter.
@Chazmo even made it into a Mass state police tweet one winter. it was subzero if I recall correctly.

My friend was talking about them at a poker game one night. He had recently bought an M3. I had just gotten my Masters Degree and wanted to buy myself something. I went to the dealer and they had an '01 Spa with a hardtop. I took it for a test drive, to work, did my commute, etc. I got a call asking if I was bringing it back. I never had a convertible and wanted to lease it just in case I didn't like it, there was no long term commitment. If I put aside my bonus at work, in 3 years I would pay cash to take ownership.
Signed everything and the next day the finance guy called me back - we can't lease an '01 because it will be a year older when you return it. We have a Suzuka coming in on the next truck that's not claimed yet. So I had them hold it for me. If I didn't like the color, they'd trade or get me another. I'm glad. I'd never use the hardtop - I'd estimate less than 5% of my miles are with the top up, probably less.
So I leased my '02 Suzuka. Plenty of drives back then - almost every weekend in DelVal there was something, plus some trips and adventures with the Metro NY group. Went to Watkins Glen, Pocono, Beaver Run for track days.
In '05 I went to a local sports car dealer (owned by the local Saab dealer) but specializing in the more odd stuff. I was going to turn it in, and was looking at a Lotus. But, 6K redline, plus it was a nightmare getting in and out. They had another '02 on the lot, also Suzuka, with under 1000 miles on it. Gave me the story - which may or may not have been true. I gave back my original and for $3K more, stepped into a "newer" '02.
Still have it. It's making an odd noise currently so it's seen little driving this summer. Working with Bill to get it out there to look at and do some work. 115K on the odometer.
