Default Realizing You Are Not A Kid Anymore...How Did You Deal With It

I am getting older. It is a bit of a weird time for me. I hear songs that I grew up on or partied to, and now they're referred to as "retro". I recently saw some elementary schools dressed up for "80's Day", much like "60's Day" when I was their age. I am hearing some of my favorite songs remade i.e, Boys of Summer and Its My Life. I look at pictures of me when I was 21, 23 and think "god, I was a kid" or find myself saying "aw, they're just kids" and I am referring to 18yr olds.
Did y'all go through this?
I am asking because I still love to listen to comtemporary music, shop at "stylish" places and go out. But, I don't want to be "the old guy trying to look young".
Any advice would be appreciated...
Thanks.

Still trying to leave the little table, eh Steve? Don't be in a big hurry now. It is funny how it sneaks up on you, though. When I was in school, it was 50's day that we dressed up for. It took alot of Brylcream to slick back the hairstyle I had in school. If your looking for advice, I don't know what I can offer, except this.....

I think you have to try and trust yourself to be yourself. Act as old or as young as YOU see fit. If some people don't like it....oh well.

I have to say I still feel "young", whatever that means. The body may be getting older but the mind refuses to go along! And I'm awhole lot older than you are, Stevie Baby! I do notice more people are calling me "Ma'am", which irritates me for some reason...

Sorry, can't help, I've yet to come to that realization...

Oddly enough, I really don't feel all that differently as a more mature person than I did as a young person. I realize that I don't have as many years left as I've spent on this planet, I suppose, but I don't dwell on it. I guess I haven't reached the realization that I'm older yet either. Maybe the only thing I've noticed is that I don't become angry as quickly as I did some years back -- but I consider that a very good thing.

I started working when I was 11, and probably grew up a little too fast as a result. Most of my family thinks that I was 40 years old at birth. On the other hand, I'm not sure I've yet realized that I'm not a kid anymore.

Hard to say. Some days I feel like an 18 year old, some days like an old man. Most days its right in the middle.

Thank you guys for the input. I guess I am just starting to realize that I am not so young. I am not part of the young generation anymore. The things I grew up on are now considered "old".
