Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.
Pretty close. New York City (Brooklyn actually) born and bred. Now in Northern New Jersey. Almost everyone can tell I'm from New York as soon as I start to speak.

Interesting. They think I have a Southern accent. Obviously, they've never been to the South.
I didn't see anything in there that would peg me as a Southerner, but they got me. After 40 years of living in Ohio, I no longer have a Southern accent. I can actually pronounce the letter 'r' at the end of a syllable now.
But they nailed it: I grew up in Western Tennessee and went to college at Mississippi State for a couple of years before moving north. Amazing.

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania,...) no need to go any further. Yep.
