AMC is presenting a miniseries remake of "The Prisoner", frequently billed as the most libertarian series of all time.
I don't hold out much hope that they maintained the spirit of the original, but it will be worth a viewing, I think.

That was good. Certainly kept me guessing and wondering what's next.

I have the complete original series on DVD.
I'm not so sure it was libertarian. It was something of a Rorschach test. People saw in it what they wanted to see in it.
I've read a few things about the new version. Sounds like they are trying to re-imagine it for today's world, but I'm not sure that's a good idea.
The original was very definitely tied to the cold war, where we were all supposed to be worried about "the other side" but many people wondered whether there was really a difference between the sides. The clever thing about the original was that you never knew which "side" was running the village, and it really didn't matter anyway.
But without the cold war "our side" and "their side" sentiment, I don't know it the idea could possibly really work today.
