The President has a spare 'copter when he flies - one's always ready if the other's being maintained. Well, there's a woman in the next building that keeps a pair of Yugo's; a blue hardtop and a yellow softop.
I finally asked her today as she was sitting by the yellow one why does she have 2 Yugos (she had lost her keys and was waiting to plead mercy w/ the parking police)?
She proudly replied that insurance was cheap, only 1k per car, and that you can get one for cheap, $500. Besdies, she needs to know one of them will run at any time since she takes a neighbor to the doctor and having 2 is good for parts.
She has had 7 Yugos since their intro to the States in the 80's.
I will say they are small and good for 1/2 size parking spaces, and she can park both in tandem where a big SUV could. But a serial Yugo owner? How bizzare is that? Shades of British cars...(sorry Rob)

 

Did you ever see the movie"Drowning Mona"? The whole town had Yugos including the police department. That was a classic movie that few people remember.

 

Never even heard of it....foreign flick I assume?

 

She sounds like a pratical, if off beat type of person.

I'd bet her "fire and theft" premium would be next to nothing, if she even bothers. Who'd steal a Yugo?
