I did a little web search, and found that on January 4, 2003 the Washington Times listed Pat Tillman as the "Noble of the Year", while the writers and editors of the NYT edged out Harry Belafonte and Jumpin' Jim Jeffords as the "Knaves of the Year".
What exactly does that have to do with the topic?

As we head into the ninth investigation of Tillman's death, I think it is important to note that he be remembered for his sacrifice, not for the fact that his death continues to be investigated.

It's too easy to get caught up in the media and minutae, instead of seeing the big picture.

Pat Tillman was a hero in my book the day he followed his convictions and walked away from his NFL life. I couldn't have done that in twenty lifetimes of living.

Why would anyone think the current investigation detracts from his memory? I'd like to see no less than mug shots of the brilliant army guys that perpetuated the lie to us.

I think the truth honors him. I think his family and his memory deserves to know the truth.

No question about it. A real John Wayne.

I remember those lines in Elton John's "candle in the wind", where the song says all the papers said that Marilyn was found in the nude. In other words, her death was overshadowed by the titilating facts surrounding it.

I want him to be remembered for his sacrifice, not the controversy swirling around his death.

Not one hero, Cordy, two heros. Those who survived the concentration camps, and those who liberated them are very special heros. As I was growing up I met some of both, the victims and the liberators. Very special people.

again.

No doubt there will be young girls in Afghanistan who remember the soldiers who allowed them to go back to school, vote, or even just sing.
