Porsche vs. Dodge Viper
With the recent posting of the McLaren video I offer this video of two pretty evenly matched cars at Nurburgring. I wonder what the outcome would have been without all the back markers in the way?

I don't think they need to switch drivers. I would like to see the Viper start in front and see the out come. I was thinking the entire way that once they got to the straight at the end, the Viper would leave the 911 behind. I was VERY surprised to see the 911 get by him into the braking zone at the end of the straight.
Either way, I will take the 911.
They are FAR better drivers then I will ever be!!

Impressive any way one looks at it.
The rate of acceleration allowing them to overtake is AMAZING. Kind of like LMP1 with the Acura's.
The other video from the Nurburgring that really impressed me was the Corvette ZR1 breaking the track record It is impressive to watch the "heads up" display and watch the MPH and the RPM that shows just how fast the ZR1 accelerates, and brakes. The GPS display of track position is also interesting to follow.
I could kick myself for not going to the Nurburgring all the times in the past (up till 2002 when I was in Germany several times a year on business) I always told myself the "next time". Well, at least I got to experience some of the last unlimited sections of the Autobahn like the A1. BTW, a Mercedes S420 will only do 240 KPH (149 MPH) flat out (electronically limited).
