Angry Poor Tom.....

Many of you have met Tom717 and his lovely +1, Susan. He was one of the group leaders at Gettysburg and also joined the vintage crowd at Watkins Glen.
Thankfully, he's OK but reported the following bad luck story by email:

Ouch! Glad no one was hurt! I suspect your Laguna will be good as new in no time - easy for me to say - I'm not the one without his car....

$870 doesn't sound too bad - what was damaged other than the license plate holder?

^This blue one. It's no fun letting anyone take away your S to repair. My '01 was in the body shop after a bungled soft top replacement so I visited it. They had the hood open and put 3 miles on it. The repairs needed were in the side behind the door, because the tech slipped with a screw driver.

Sorry to hear about the mishap, Tom. Hope you get your baby back soon.

Geeze and here I thought I was the only one who visisted my S when it was in the shop!

I've taken to writing down mileage, and resetting both trip odometers to 0. They seem to put about 3 miles on after each fluid change - that's OK - the service memo denotes they did a test drive. I average an oil change every 6 weeks, so they see me quite often, and have gotten used to my visits.

I just HATE it when I can't go check on my baby in the garage, tho.

I'm sure the S will be good as new...it sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

^ Glad everything is OK, Tom...my ex's Mercedes (beautiful older red convertible) got hit by some idiot backing out of a parking space. Geico was the insurer and came through really quickly on an estimate and a check for repairs. Glad your experience was similar.

Glad to hear that neither you or the car suffered significant damage. That repair quote was a much lower number than I expected to see after reading the first part of your account.

Gotta get your LBP baby back out on the road and visible. Our color has made a big splash in just it's first year, and really stands out among those "vintage" colors in group pics.
