Political Lawn Posters....., .....do they affect public opinion???
The answer is YES! You'd be surprised how many voters go inside the voting booth not knowing anything about any of the candidates or any of the issues on the ballot. So they look down the list of candidates and say to themselves: "I remember seeing his/her name on the lawn of my neighbor, and I like my neighbor, so I will vote for him/her." Or they say: "I remember seeing his/her name many times on my way to work, so I will vote for him/her." So having your name out there will help you to get elected, because the majority of the voters are not educated.

I think that the "lawn pollution" has about the same effect of changing a tu fan to an A&M fan by me hanging the TAMU flag out each football weekend. In essence it has zero effect. The only positive is that it does show that someone cares about who is in office and is taking an active position as opposed to those who only BPM after it is over only to find out they never voted.

Let's make this a thread: What do YOU see planted in your neighborhood and daily commute route? Is it 'same old/ same old'.....or somehow different ???
In Acton, all I see is Bush signs in people's yards. When I drive I see some Bush and some Kerry bumper stickers. Everyone I know has their minds made up and none of them would be swayed by a sign anywhere.

Many interesting views, but I still like seeing the signs....witness that someone feels strongly about 'their' candidate.

Too many people don't give a gnat's a$$ about any of the candidates...

See, I thought you were sprinkling those signs in your neighborhoods.
