Thumbs up Political Body Language

HERE is an item from the BBC website on US candidates and their body language. It;s pretty interesting....

Which "indicator" do YOU think is most accurate....or most unimportant?

The comment about Mitt's "nose-growing Pinocchio lying cue" is right on in my book.

Not surprised Giuliani has the most "honest" body language. He always struck me as a no-spin kind of politician...you might or might not like what he said but you had the feeling he was being straight with you.

Watch for Mitt to polish his act. Mr. Smooth won't get my vote.

Obhama's communication skills might be just the ticket. I often think that a modern president's style is his most important attribute. Look at Regan and Clinton. A lot of the good that came out of those administrations was rooted in the confidence they inspired (at least among the majority of folks). By contrast, look at Bush...a very bright and skilled politician who constantly comes across as a bumbler because the man cannot speak.

I agree with both points and you REALLY hit it on the head on your second point.

??????

I've seen no evidence that would make me characterize Bush as "bright" nor "skilled". I will readily agree that he cannot speak. That's been all too apparent (and embarrassing) over the past 7 years.

I've noticed recently that when Obama and Hillary are sitting together -- as in the last debate -- Obama's head is clearly leaning obliquely away from Hillary, even when he is being very warm and nice verbally.

I always thought that both Bushs were exceptional at framing their opponent in a bad light, sort of a school yard bully kind of thing. unfortunately I think that is the only thing GW is any good at.

Pray tell what they would say about a cornpone like Harry Truman. Not surprised about Guiliani though. By the way, you can be sure they have all been briefed the avoid the FBI's visual cues of a blatant liar.
