Phoebe Snow (Poetry Man) died today
Phoebe Snow passed away today from a brain hemorrhage. Some of you may remember her beautiful song, The Poetry Man:

A truly terrible loss. One of the finest singer/songwriters of the time. This void will be very hard to fill.

An aside, her real name was Phoebe Laub. The name Phoebe Snow comes from the old Erie, Lackawana and Delaware rail line which used the imaginary character Phoebe Snow in it's advertisements. The name Phoebe Snow was on the side of every car and Phoebe Laub saw that as a youngster.
"You'll arrive clean and bright when you ride the line of anthracite" Phoebe Snow.
