Default Phantom departure

A veteran of several foreign wars has taken it's final manned flight today. Some of you USAF/USMC/NAVY types may have served alongside the old girl A toast may be in order

I believe a few are but other than a privately owned one or two the vast majority have been turned into target drones for the new jets to try and shoot down Today was the last manned flights by the USAF pilots with a ceremony at Holliman AF base.

The LOUDEST jets I've ever witnessed. Afterburners are awesome. I've never witnessed the SR-71 Blackbird taking off. Ppl tell me that one is the loudest jet.

I sat int the cockpit of a SR-71 once.
OK, it was only the cockpit, the rest of the plane was buried at the end of the runway where it couldn't make takeoff. But it was still cool.
