Default Paypal

Can you use pay pal anywhere other than ebay? I have bought from four on-line retailers this week, and none of them accept paypal. I'm thinking of just ordering a check from paypal in order to get the money.

Most of the places from which I have ever purchased automotive performance parts accept paypal. But it's far from universal or even as commonly accepted as Visa or MC.

Many of the vendors on S2ki accept Paypal. I prefer to use it when possible, because your credit card info does not go to anyone other than Paypal.

There is an option in PayPal to install their toolbar on your browser. When used, this generates a one-time use Visa or MasterCard to pay anyone who accepts either of these two cards. I use this feature quite a bit. It still requires you to have a PayPal account, as it draws funds from the source you have set up, but it pretty much defeats any high-jacking of credit card information.

EDIT: OOOPS...I just checked their website and it states this feature is no longer available.

As others said, I only run across PayPal occasionally....but have had no trouble with it. Mostly used with Ebay...

Which reminds me....I have a small balance and should get 'em to send it to my linked checking account

I have used it once or twice outside of eBay, but use it exclusively when on eBay.

Paypal is a ripoff to small vendors. I just go done reviewing all the various gateways and their charges.

Paypal is the most expensive. The not only want vendor fees but over 2% of the billing action per transaction.

I wouldn't go near them on a bet when I can get the same transaction for 10 cents elsewhere. They are way out of line, taking advantage of small vendors.
