^^ Patty, It's typically all about the power-to-weight ratio.

I've ridden in your RAV4 a lot (also driven it), and IMHO the RAV's 0-60 times are realistically well below 7 sec. The thing is a freakin Sleeper! I think your RAV would give an S2000 a run for the $$, and the stock S goes 0-60 in 5.4 sec. It's interesting that the 6-cyl RAV4 has even less torque and hp than the Crosstour.

You also had three people in the Crosstour when you test drove it. The salesman and I probably added another 350 pounds, so I'm sure that slowed it down some.

I wish Honda would quit over-engineering their engines. Drive-by-wire and VSA are enough, but now they've added VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) to the Crosstour. The engine has too much to "think" about before delivering .

But aren't they quite different vehicles? Are you not that picky? What were/are you looking for in your vehicle? Or just a black Honda with navi?
I got sandbagged. Barb wanted the Crosstour all along. The internet shopping was irrelevant once we got on the lot. As I said I just can't say no sometimes. Especially when she's right.
So, how's Barb liking the Crosstour, Raymo? I'm still interested. It may not be as quick as the RAV4 but it still excites me, just by being a solid and reliable Honda with a V6. May go drive another one tomorrow.

Neither of us has driven it much yet. I had to take it back to the Honda place to get a sqeaky belt tensioner replaced. We've been in a POS Dodge Avenger the last couple of days.

She loves it so far. We'll know more after the weekend.

Well it's been almost a week so it seemed like time for a few modifications.

Ordered wheel locks, door and moonroof visors, and splash guards from Handa Accessories. Should be here by this time next week.

Here are the before pictures:

raymo, your CrossTour is like my TL, it's good you don't have to drive it on the outside, because Honda seems to have some very odd ideas of style.
The voice recognition is WAAAAAY crazy. Also, I just discovered that I can stream bluetooth music from my phone to the audio system, Pandora on the car system

Enjoy it!

No kidding. We're going through the "No, that's not what I said you deaf bitch" phase now. I suspect I'll be doing most things manually.

Drive that thing on over here and give us a ride. We're here.

Is the Mexican place you were talking about the one here on the corner?
