You did get the top of the line one. It has the rear view camera come on when you put in reverse too, doesn't it. That is cool!

Sure, it's all fun and games now. Let's see who's laughing when Skynet goes online.

Yep. Those alignment lines are really cool. I still wouldn't be comfortable parallel parking it with just the camera yet. I'm surprised you found it underpowered - this one screams when you want it to.

I'm just gonna disconnect both battery cables and the link on the garage door opener and run like Hell!

Yeah, I was when I floored it on the freeway on ramp and it just slightly moved faster. Everyone keeps telling me that the Accord V6 is fast. I'm going to get my friend Tom, who's wife has a new Accord with the V6, to drive my RAV4. I want to see what he says. Lurker, Tom R, (with two NSXs and an S2000, and ...) I'm talking about you.

Patty, you have gotten me very curious, as the 3.5 liter v6 in my wifes accord is very fast. Don't understand why this same drivetrain wouldn't fee fast in the crosstour. also the pictures you took of my daughter and her new car are awesome! you are very talented. thanks for sharing!!
TOm... the lurker

Tom, you'll have to drive my RAV4 and see what you think. Glad you like your little girls photos.

Here's some info I gathered. The Accord Crosstour seems like it should be just at fast or faster than my 2008 RAV4, except for the weight.

Data from From Edmond.com...

The 2011 Crosstour:
Curb weight: 3852 lbs.
We were able to procure a 2WD Crosstour EX-L for track testing where the Honda clicked off a relatively brisk 7.5-second 0-to-60-mph sprint and a 15.5-second run down the quarter-mile.

Engine & Performance

Base engine size: 3.5 L
Cam type: Single overhead cam (SOHC)
Cylinders: V6
Valves: 24
Valve timing: Variable
Torque: 254 ft-lbs. @ 5000 rpm
Horsepower: 271 hp @ 6200 rpm

Turning circle: 40.2 ft.

Base engine type: gas

The 2008 V-6 4wd Limited RAV4:
Curb weight: 3371 lbs.
Performance

The 3.5-liter, 269-horsepower V6 in the 2008 Toyota RAV4 is almost magical in the way it combines acceleration that can shame everything in its segment, along with fuel economy that does the same: sipping fuel more like a four-cylinder. Yes, you can get the RAV4 with a four-cylinder engine, but with the EPA fuel mileage ratings being nearly identical to the V6's, why would you?

At the test track, our loaded, four-wheel-drive RAV4 Limited ran to 60 mph in just 7.3 seconds and flashed through the quarter-mile in 15.4 seconds, making this the Usain Bolt of its class. On the road, the five-speed automatic transmission was hard to fault, with smooth gear changes and a willingness to step down a gear or two when a burst of power was needed for merging or passing.
Mechanical

Engine & Performance

Base engine size: 3.5 L
Cam type: Double overhead cam (DOHC)
Cylinders: V6
Valves: 24
Valve timing: Variable
Torque: 246 ft-lbs. @ 4700 rpm
Horsepower: 269 hp @ 6200 rpm

Patty, this was all you needed to answer Tom's question. I would be very attracted to the Crosstour if it came in a 2/3 scale version.

Patty
from the information you have above, your rav 4 has more power then i expected! i think the 400lbs in weight is the difference you are feeling, however i'm still curious as my wifes accord is pretty fast with the v6.

have a great memorial day
