George, a best friend is so missed! I'm sorry for Anne Marie's agony.
I cried my heart out when my dog, Kyras, died. Not much at all when my parents died.

George, We talk about our friends passing away.
At our age they have had a somewhat ful life.
We were talking with one of our sons yesterday.
Jon was recounting he had just lost a friend who had struggled with their mental health for the last year.
Jon said they hadn't 'missed the red flags." They did everything they could to support him and he was in the system.
The system just sucks. Al of the little hurdles of forms and paperwork made it tougher to fight the battle.
The battle ended Friday with a suicide, Jon's friend was 29.

Imagine passing away and seeing all of the loved ones on the other side, friends , family, pets. You then look back and say why did we spend so much time grieving them when we all would be together again someday. I know many people in our Italian community who lost family members and they spend the rest of their lives grieving, never enjoying life. There has to be a balance between grieving , and moving on with life, I know it can be hard for many.

Sorry for your wife’s friend loss, My father in law died from kidney failure 5 years after his wife died. He was also suffering from a broken heart. My Dad took his life at age 59. I suffered from grief for a time but realized that I had a young family to support and they needed me. We will meet again some day but life goes on until that day.

As the youngest of my large extended family and relatives, I am very much looking forward to seeing my loved ones again when I had so little real time to do so on this earth. In a few short years, we will all be there.
