Anne Marie's best friend, Lynn, passed away early this morning. They were best friends for many, many years, very close. She had Stage 4 colon cancer that spread to her liver. It happened very quickly.. Anne Marie is experiencing grief like I've never seen from her, even when her parents died, each after long illness and cognitive and physical decline.

I am sorry to hear of the loss and the grief that results.
In recent times I have come to believe that we will all meet again in a different world. Grieving is a natural process, and everyone deals death differently, I hope it doesn't affect your wife for too long. May her friend RIP

It may have been easier for Ann Marie to let go of parents who had a long steady decline, giving her time to slowly absorb the loss.

Regardless, sorry she is suffering now.

So sorry for the loss of her friend. Losing people close to us is hard. We expect to outlive our parents. It is a different loss losing a sibling or close friend. It can be so painful.to lose someone of our own generation.

Parents are "supposed" to pass away before us. It is sort of the normal rhythm of life.
When we lose friends. it exposes our own mortality. They are too much like us.

I just got a list from my high school president of the class. 86 of my classmates are known dead and an equal amount are believed dead but not confirmed.
