I love your essays, Rob. Keep them coming!

Long drives don't bother me. As long as there's something to watch - scenery, traffic, whatever, all is good, and I'm not physically tired when I start. I don't mind being a passenger, either. On drives to and from meets, Virginija often drives.

I'll be tested, though, in 3 1/2 weeks. Driving alone across the Great plains will push my comfort to its limits, I suspect. Harder yet will be the trip BACK across the plains, after I've just spent 2 weeks driving an average of 6+ hours per day (many days, more). I'm still looking forward to it though.

Rob, thanks for sharing your family's differing views of driving. It seems this is a genetic thing. I need to find a time to talk to my son about this. He doesn't love car maintenance, but he seems to like driving. Chris now drives a 2005 Civic Si and he loves it. I think the car you are giving Adam has a bit more kick than the 2005 variant, so Adam is pretty lucky in that regard.

I have to agree with those who say they get tired after a few hours driving. I am certainly in that camp. This is especially true in the late afternoon.
