Tomorrow is the Udvar-Hazy part of the National Air and Space Museum. I am truly excited about seeing the displays. I understand that they have the SR-71 Blackbird that broke the world air speed record on display.
May I suggest picking up a copy of Ben E. Rich's (sucessor to Kelly Johnson) The Skunk Works. It is a easy but fascinating read for an aviation buff.
The one on display at Dullles holds the LA to Washington, DC record on it's last flight of 1 Hour, four minutes and 19.89 seconds.
As a Black Bird pilot once said: "You haven't been lost, until you have been lost at Mach 3."
Enjoy your visit and don't let the Politicians ruin a great city for you.

John...those are tulip trees. You will love Udvar-Hazy. The displays are truly awesome, and not only in size! Cherry blossoms out in force next week, unfortunately after you leave. Peaking April 4th.

Jillian and I are both SR71 Fans
Don't miss the Jefferson Memorial.
I went there once just after sunset- had the place to myself and every single hair on the back of my neck stood up. There is definitely something of the man captured there.
