OMG It's Hot

It is already in the low 80's. We normally don't get that hot. I feel sorry for the people participating in Relay for Life today. At least we won't be as hot as Death Valley, a nice and toasty 131* predicted today.

Apparently instead of going to accuweather.com this morning, I went to inaccuweather.com. We briefly got into the low 90's before the not predicted thunder storm hit. A little rain went a long way toward cooling us off.
When I "camp" in Death Valley, I stay in the motel at Stove Pipe Wells. Next time I go I probably will take my golf clubs and play the course again. This time I will use lower compression golf balls.

It's too hot for me to go outside. I will melt. In the shade it's 97* at 3:23 p.m. in Trabuco Canyon of Orange County, in So Cal. When I lived in Acton, 97* was pretty warm, but not too bad. Here, 97* is frigg'n hot. The humidity of this area makes it much worse than the dry desert of Acton.

We had a nice thundershower about an hour ago and the cloud cover is still in place so we may get more rain yet. Yea!
As a result the temps are in the mid 70s but it's still pretty humid.
Did I say "How 'bout them Dawgs" yet?

I was insane today. Went on a motorcycle ride with a buddy down through Julian and back up through Temecula. After 2 PM it was Basically riding in a oven. Had to be 103 or so and I was dehydrated despite drinking about 90 oz of water on the ride!

I just don't remember humidity when I lived in SoCal. On my patio, I do remember oiling up with Hawaiian Tropics suntan oil and having the hummingbirds hover over me .......... thinking "is she a flower or not?"

Barbara, it's all in what you're used to. Coming from the desert, I find it humid here but I am getting used to it, and feeling that it's dry when I go to the desert, or Kennedy Meadows.
