An aside to the music: This past Friday night and Sunday afternoon on the show "Harlem Nights" on XM radio channel 5 they featured the live performances of various groups on "Alan Freed's Dance Party". Alan Freeds Dance Party was a replacement show on the CBS network and all of the groups were recorded live. The shows were recorded during the 1956/1957 season. LaVerne Baker, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Chuck Berry, The Robins and etc performed. It was a great show. That leads me to the next questions.
Where did Alan Freed get his start?
What was the charge/scandal that shook the early days of rock n roll?
What group did the Robins become?

R.I.P Margo. Here's the other one you guys ignored.
The Crickets are best known for their songs with Buddy Holly, but I have "Someday" on Liberty with The Crickets backing up a well known artist of the period. Anybody know who it was?
