This is not a trivia question, just a little, sad piece of trivia as reported in the obituary section of today's New York Times.
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/16/nyregion.../16solomon.html
Howard Solomon, the owner of the Greenwich Village coffee house "Cafe au Go Go" died on June 3rd. Howard Solomon was arrested together with Lenny Bruce during one of Bruce's performances on April 3, 1964. The charge was obscenity.
Lenny Bruce died before the conviction could be overturned. Mr. Solomon fought the conviction and his was overturned.
Howard Solomon, RIP
Now more trivia. Your turn.

Not only was his name Obie, but he's a real person. (As much of the massacree is based LOOSELY on fact)
I watched the movie a few weeks ago... it doesn't hold up as well as the song, but Obie actually plays himself! (As do many of the others)
"I cannot tell a lie Sgt. Obie... I put that envelope underneath that pile of garbage!"
On the subject of Lenny Bruce...
When Lenny died it was reported that he was found naked on his bathroom floor. (There were many photographs taken to prove it.) Was this the truth? If not, what really happened?
On a happier note, Lenny did a great routine about the Lone Ranger that was later made into a short film... can anyone name it?
Bonus: Can you name the comedian who idolized Lenny Bruce to the point that it ruined his life. (He comitted suicide when his own drug and alcohol abuse, combined with his extra marital affair with Lenny's daughter, Kitty, blew up in his face.)
extra bonus... name that comedian's hit sitcom.
