Default OK...get out your hankies.

Eric Schmitt-Matzen (playing Santa Claus) was called by a nurse to come to a Tennessee hospital right away. A boy's mother gave him a gift to give to her son before he went inside. Schmitt-Matzen said the boy asked him how he would know 'when I get to where I'm going?' Santa told him to tell them 'you're my Number One Elf' and that they would take care of him. The boy then asked Schmitt-Matzen if Santa could help save him, but before he could answer the boy died in his arms.

So sad, especially during this time of year. Deaths that happened in my family, during this time of year has forever dampened the Holiday spirit.

Thanks, for post.

The death of a child is the saddest death of all. Anyone who can bring that child a little bit of comfort is Godly. I never believed that there was a Santa Claus until I read the article.

Well...it's looking like this story may not be true. So I guess it's good that a little kid hasn't died, but it's not so good that Santa may have made it up.

Put it in the urban legend category and bring it out every Christmas. Makes a nice allegory for all the good things people MIGHT do now and then.

What? A false post on the Internet!

Sure would have been nice, if it were true.
