Default Ok fess up ! Who's not eating beef?

With recent revelations and tribulations in the beef industry;who especially my west coast brothers and sisters is going to abstain from beef now and for '04 or beyond???

I'll be honest I'm giving it heavy consideration.

We grilled up some killer New Yorks last night.

You gotta go sometime... I'm going to enjoy the ride.

I've been thinking about Buffalo steaks as an alternative since Giant Eagle started selling them here.
I planned on eating more fish in 04 anyway this may have made my decision a lot easier

One of my friends is a fish wholesaler. His business is up exponentially.

I've had beefalo prime rib and it was pretty good!

We eat so much fish I'm about to grow gills... but I still like a good steak from time to time.

It would be prudent to visit a specialty butcher shop that does all their own work...

Bon Appetit! (not sure if I spelled that correctly... )

I lived through the BSE crisis in the UK 10 years ago, dealt with the mad cow scare in Canada, and have, at no time ceased my consumption of beef. While others may argue to the contrary, I think I'm still fine. Life's too short to worry about things like this. No changes in my diet thank you very much.

Why? It seems to me that the probability of becoming ill due to mad cow is about the same as winning the lottery and being hit by lightening on the same day.

Why not minimize your exposure by taking this little step?

Sorry to sound like such a cynic, but I'm with Dallas on this one. I don't buy lottery tickets and often go out backpacking/hiking even when an electrical storm is forecast.

+1 and I stopped eating much red meat over a year ago -- haven't had beef more than 3 or 4 times in the past year and a half. We stick mostly with fish and chicken and have lots of veggies and less meat. We're trying to eat more healthy to lower our bad cholesterol. So -- I guess there's little point in buying beef at this particular time, but we didn't stop eating it because of the mad cow scare.
