Great pics, Patty. Amazing scenery and the moose pics are cool! Thanks for taking the time to post and add captions. I know it's a lot of work.

Every time I see this pic I think of a space monster. Add a couple eyes and it's a blonde space monster.

Was working in the garden today and had to run in the house to get the camera when I spotted this guy. Pics taken with the kit lens.

The garden is waning, but here's a flower that's hanging in there.

I was just thinking last week that it had been a very long time since I had seen a praying mantis. He is lovely and I'm amazed he was still there when you got back with the camera. Well done.

Correct me if I'm wrong but praying mantises are good for the garden eating other insects but grasshoppers are bad and eat plants, right?

Yes, praying mantis' eat bad bugs but they also eat butterflies! Prayer mantis' are also very territorial and will kill other PMs. Grasshoppers chew on plants and are not a good bug but I've never bothered with them since they rarely do a lot of damage.

That's what I thought. When I catch a grasshopper on my plant I cut it in half with my rose trimmers.
