I have something like this, I call it the entertainment center
Mine is not this tall, mine is just 5-feet tall and has 3-levels to it, and the legs are uncovered cedar
Originally I thought it was just too much money but then I eventually I broke down and got one, and I have never regretted it
The cats just love it, about 75% of their sleeping is done on it

^^I've had this cat post since Zoro was a kitten, 13 years ago. He shredded it, as you can see, so I took it to a carpet store and found an installer who re-carpeted the posts with a remnant. My cats are old now and rarely use it but I'll always keep it for the next kitten(s) I have.
^^I have this shorter post that the cats do use everyday with sisal rope on the uprights and a bed I placed at the top. It sits in a window so they like to lay in the sunshine there. Zoro has done a number on the rope on that one, right where he stretches up, so that one Lainey has could be a good thing for him. Crystal is declawed but she still likes to act like she's scratching on the post.
^^Enjoying a warm day outside last month.
^^Crystal.
^^Zoro. Jerry (Spokes Man) took this photo last week. It's trippy to me to see his eyes that clearly since he's totally blind. He walks into walls and chairs all the time even though he does navigate pretty well. He will go outside and feel with his paws when he's not sure how to get down from the spa. He trudges on.

Nice job on the redo Patty!
Ganzo had destroyed the bottom carpet of mine
I ended up tossing it and getting a new one
I got a good 8-years out of it though, I did not feel like it owed me anything

One thing I read is that you don't always have to toss the shredded cat posts. Cats might like it that way. I guess if they have nothing left to scratch, however, it's time for new.
They did a nice job re-carpeting that cat post, Patty.

I was looking to buy a new cat post, after I moved that shredded thing to my new house but I never could find anything near as large with nice sized flat areas for slumber, for any price. I didn't realize what a good deal I got on it when it was new but I bought it at Costco for about $90. Looking at them now, the largest ones are close to $200. It was worth it to get the posts recarpeted for $100.

Today, voila, I did it! I had been running a Berk HF cat until my last track day in December when the core came loose, and it started making vibrating rukus as if something was coming apart. Sounded awful, so I packed it in and came home sad. I had no idea what was wrong, But then, my mechanic listened to it and said, "check the cat". So I took the cat off and shook it around a bit, and yeah, it was a defective cat. I talked to Berk about the defect on the phone, but with no satisfaction; so I ordered a HF cat from Asura and put it on. I didn't really want to toss the Berk, so I decided to extract the core and use the remaining pipe at the track as a test pipe. Great idea. So I took it to a machine shop, and was told I would never get it out. I took it to metal salvage place and was told I would never get it out. I took it to a cat salvage place, and the guy offered to throw it away for me. Determined, I brought it home and -- today I did get the sucker out!
Tomorrow I'll try it out. Drueck die Daumen, that it doesn't throw a CEL code!
