It takes about 15 seconds to learn to rotate your heel outward as you stop. You'll have no problem if you practice stopping about 20 times before you really ride.

It's much easier than reaching down to loosen the strap on the toe clip before you stop.

 

Yeah! New couch and love seat and I'm very happy with it. The older chairs blend in very nicely. A few other decor items to change and I'll be done. It's sometimes hard to tell if you will like an item of furniture when selecting fabric from a small piece. Thankfully, I like it!

 

I was using toe clips with running shoes but no straps.

Thanks, Patty. We probably had that other couch 15+ years. It was getting tired and it no longer suited my taste. It won't go to waste though, it will be used in the basement. The couch down in the basement was really old, but in very good shape. Someone is going to take it off my hands. The other furniture was disposed of.

I tried to climb my long steep drive but the chain jumped and I came to a rather abrupt stop.
THAT was when I realized the tension setting was all wrong.

I've never had an indoor cat, always feared what they would do to the furniture, and always felt they enjoyed life more outside, though I'm aware of the dangers. Shelter kitty is an indoor cat. She has claws and will not be declawed. I'm not in favor of that, and the shelter makes you sign a contract stating you won't declaw the cat. Anyway, she's not damaged anything of yet. She had a scratching post but was not showing much interest in it, and I was a bit concerned she might want to claw our new furniture. I saw this scratching post on line and picked it up today. She likes to stretch........and she's pretty tall.

Hopefully, she'll put it to good use. She'd getting used to it here.
