Boring flight. No doors or wheels flying off. No flames. No instant drops due to a tech glitch. Nice pics.

First outing with the new camera today. Just a quick one. Buttons are mostly similar to previous cameras. Need to watch a few tutorials. It's fast! I like fast!

Just a slight upgrade, bought a Canon EOS 90D. More megapixel and more frames per second, a slight upgrade on the sensor. It's not new technology with camera companies pushing mirrorless.

I didn't care for the reviews on the crop sensor mirrorless cameras. Wasn't ready to go full frame either. I still like the reach of the crop sensor.

The story behind this was I had my Rebel T6S and T7i cleaned locally. I used a camera shop in RI with a great reputation, I've used them previously with no issue. I ended up with a very dirty viewfinder on the T7i. The guy tried to clean it up a bit without disassembling the camera, but not much improvement. A photo pal told me he had the same issue with a camera after a sensor cleaning. I bought the T6S in 2016 and T7i in 2018, and had been thinking of the 90D for a while. So I used the dirty viewfinder (which was driving me crazy), as an excuse to get a new camera. Then I sent the T7i out to Canon and for $189.00 + shipping they are hopefully working their magic on it as I type. I like having two camera bodies. I usually use the second body with an 18-200 for strolling around. The T6s will now be the back up to the back up, unless I decide to sell it, though I know it won't get me much.

Went to a butterfly place not far from Jerry/bolton blue today.
Pic one is manipulated. I increased the black and did a little cloning to get the all black background. Pic 2 is all about the eyes. The rest of the butterfly is not in focus...I used the new camera and a 100 mm macro lens. Indoor with no flash limits some settings. I might have had a little more wiggle room on some shots, but wasn't verifying after each shot. It was a good day in my world.

Lainey "You Go Girl" with that camera! Sadly in today's world some would think that first picture was done by Ai.

Thanks, Dave. Someone with much more knowledge than I could pick apart that first pic. Good thing I don't work for the associated press. The background was quite dark. A little slide key added more black and the little bit of the stand holding the feeder was still visible, so I cloned it out. In looking at my butterfly pics, (I took a lot) I would have liked to get more of the butterflies' bodies in focus. I need more practice. I click too quickly, need to try different settings. Then again, these guys have wings, they don't wait around for me to change my camera settings.

When I visit my nephew in NY, a larger butterfly place is not far off my route. I may make a stop. Butterfly places are extremely peaceful, with nice music playing. Seeing a kids excitement if a butterfly lands on them is pretty cool. Heck if one lands on me, I feel pretty special.
