This is not by any means, all the windows at this location, just a few of my favorites. The comment below about it is a vision to see the light dancing through the windows as the leaves move outside is an understatement. When I saw the round window of Christ on the blue background coming alive as I turned to see it for the first time, I was spellbound, dead in my tracks! It was as if Jesus was alive walking on the water in front of me. I get goosebumps just recalling my vision.

From Atlas Obscura:
BUILT IN 1901, ST. PETER’S Chapel is the oldest Naval chapel in the United States. It is home to one of the largest collections of Tiffany stained glass windows under one roof and is filled with historic naval memorials.

Located in the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo California, St. Peter’s was the second chapel built on a U.S. Navy property. (It was preceded by the original chapel at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, which was replaced with a new building in 1904.) The single-story chapel was designed by Albert Sutton. The walls are lined with 29 striking stained-glass windows, most of which were created by Tiffany Studios.

Wow, those are beautiful! I would love to see them. I'm curious how they were made. I know how to make stained glass but not how they get the details of faces and such. They must paint them somehow.

I am not sure how the definition of "stained glass" has changed or not over the centuries. As I recall from the docent leading us around, much of the glass is handblown with distinctive patterns, colors and features incorporated within the glass itself. Take a look at the wings of the angels; you can see the blown and crafted tufts, if you will, of the wings. Those are not painted but internal. The same holds true for the chain mail of the figures. That is the brilliance of Tiffany in product. However, the facial features may very well be added some how in the process and not technically "stained" although a professional may quickly disagree!

Yellowstone Park in 1962. I just saw this posted on an MG thread and had to steal it. I love it.
