Kicking myself for not taking a decent photo of the car. I think the guys who said DeSoto are likely correct. This one has no resemblance to the Pontiac Chief, but...........

Desoto Hood Ornaments - Desoto hood ornaments are characterized by:
  • 1920s: head in armour on rad cap
  • 1930s til mid 40s had bare breasted woman with long hair that blended with wings. Highly arched back
  • Late 1940s had round emblem.
  • early 1950s had Hernando De Soto face (Spanish explorer)
  • mid 1950s had stylized wings, and ball on a bent hoop shape
Next time take a picture of one from the 30s

Hanging out on the Cape Cod Canal. A gentleman fishing told me where he had seen a mink family (in the rocks) and one popped out for me. It was very small! Lots of Great Blue Heron activity as well. Fishing and dining on said fish. He worked this one hard, it was flipping and fighting for it's life!

He's got it...time to flip it around and gulp it down.

Thanks. I've taken photos of mink on the Cape Cod Canal before, this one was the smallest one I've seen.

Went to a local beach this afternoon. They have areas roped off for piping plovers and terns. Lots of terns are moving about. Spotted this piping plover chick. He/she was fast! Think two cotton balls with legs! Adorable.
