The blue herons are back at the rookery building their nests. I took a ride today to one situated right off the parking lot of a Home Depot. It was cloudy and most of the nests are hard to see with all the tree, but I had some time to kill. Skies weren't great either. There is another rookery with better views and we'll head there when it's warmer. I was glad I had gloves in my jacket pocket today. It got cold out!

Lainey, we have a blue heron that visits the wooded stream behind our house and we often see him/her taking off and flying between the trees as he/she gains altitude. Cool to watch/

Yesterday at the local nature trail, a Canada Goose really pi$$ed off a swan. Not sure if it was hanging around a nest or babies or whatever. The Canada Goose was squaking or whatever noise they make and aggravating the swan. Swans can be darn aggressive in their own rights. So the swan decided to show the goose who was in charge and gave chase.
