This little guy was up for adoption on 11-24-2014, in Foothill Ranch, CA Petsmart, when I volunteered there. He was wonderful but at the time I already had three cats so I resisted.
^4-13-2014. Talia, my Bengal, who I find a lot better looking that a Savanna and much less money.
Although the exotic looks of Savannas and Bengals is a treat, I'd have a hard time choosing between a seal point Siamese and a Maine Coon, for my next cat, if I was to go to a breeder. Volunteering at the shelter, I see so many great cats come through that I have to be strong not to take one home.

Jerry, that wouldn't do you any good. The cats can go fast and a person has to come in physically to adopt one or put a hold on one. Cats and dogs can be held for fee for 48 hours, same as dogs, but no holds are allowed for puppies or kittens.

If I were to get another cat it would be a Norwegian Forest cat. Their personalities are known as being friendly, calm, and gentle. They are intelligent, very large, and again…friendly, many have described their character as “dog-like”.

I've been lead to believe that Maine Coons are just like that.

DNA analysis shows they are related.

Sharing the floor heater vent with Atticus.
2-25-2019. This works so well for me! When I just can't get warm I put on a long night gown and stand over the floor heater vent. Toasty in no time.

My key to getting warm is socks! Thick socks, maybe two pair, and an extra layer of clothing, and maybe a blanket on my lap too. It doesn't happen often that I need all that, but layers work. We are not stingy with the heat either. Turn that thermostat up and be comfortable in your home is our way of thinking. BTW, If I'm cold, I can never get warm, unless I have socks on. I sleep with socks on, even in the summer. It's very sexy.

^2-26-2019. I'm sure everyone here knows my daughter is a zookeeper at the Denver Zoo. She took this photo with her cellphone on Tuesday, as she was walking by the lion exhibit, of the brothers, Kito, Bahati, Usiku and Jasiri. They were born May 17, 2015, at the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, Kansas and came to the Denver Zoo in July 2016. The cub’s father, Razi, was pushing them out of the pride, in 2016, which is a natural occurrence as male cubs start to reach sexual maturity, according to the Denver Zoo. Their father, mother, Amali, and sister, Lulu, remained at Lee Richardson Zoo. The cubs came to Denver through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Lion Species Survival Plan. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service lists lions as a threatened species. Increasing human populations in Africa are reducing and fragmenting wild lions’ available territory and prey.
