My ex sent me a pic of a new puppy he just got, named Samantha after a sweet dog we had for many years. This one supposedly is a Lab/Shepherd mix. She is nine weeks old. Cute...

Patty, Barb never had pets growing up. so no feline history.
On the other hand, we always had animals of one flavor or another.
I bond with most animals pretty well. I have a 1/4" scar on the tip of my nose for proof. Spice didn't want to go to the vet.
I would definitely go kitten rather than cat that supposedly got along with dogs.
A cat that was OK with some 35 pound lab cross might not react the same way with Titan.
but at this point this is mostly floating a fantasy. Having to comb out a Maine coon is a clear commitment.
And having a snack tray out for titan... eyuck.
