It is beautiful but having lived a block from the lake for 30+ years you sort of get use to it. The church I attended back then had a parking lot that was reclaimed from the lake. One year during Saturday Mass a storm came up and the spray from the waves coated many of the cars just like that. The priests car took the brunt with so much ice that it broke the rear leaf springs and blew out one of the tires from the weight. It took two days of using multiple wrecker tied together to get many of the cars out. The ice on the parking lot was over two feet thick and when it melted there were hundreds of fish left in the lot. It was a big mess. Ahhh the good old days!

Cool stuff, Dave. Literally! I'd love to photograph something like that, right when the temps are warm enough to start the melting process!
