A Facebook friend of mine has entered her photo in a contest, and is one of the 10 finalists. If so inclined, she would appreciate your vote for her picture "SPRING SUNSET AT DOUGHTON PARK"
These are all photos of Western North Carolina, and all are good, in my opinion.
You can vote at this link: WNC Photo Contest | WNC Magazine!

Thanks!

For Deb and Jim, and others who know Durango: From Facebook: "In the past 131 years we have had an insurmountable amount of people walk through our lobby. From authors, presidents, cowboys, tourists, guests, patrons and more the Strater lobby has seen it all. Below you can see one of our earliest photos of the lobby to what it looks like today! Even with all the changes the lobby has gone through it's fun to see the similarities and differences!"
The Strater Hotel lobby, then:

And now:

Very cool...I stayed there on one of my visits to Durango - the first time I took the train up to Silverton.

Small wildflowers (about size of a nickel), taken with 50mm macro lens (at 1 to 1-1/2 inch), this AM.

Pretty. No more flowers here....today I got up to take the granddaughter to work. She goes to work EARLY! I decided to watch the sunrise and grab some shots. My sunrise photos were not what I hoped, but I did enjoy capturing a few shots with early light. Will do that again sometime.

Lobster vessel headed in. Loved what the early light did for the colors of the old mill building. The white you see is the fence on top of the Harbor Walk, which is built on top of the hurricane dike.

Fishing vessel headed out. My home town and the fishing fleet in the background, lots going on here!

Fishing vessel passing small lighhouse in early morning. You can walk to that lighthouse on low tide. Large rocks in foreground are the edges of the path of the hurricane dike on the east side.

I like this one..I caught the sun as it was peeking through the old ruins.
